MOM'S FAVORITE MACARONI SALAD | |
3 c. chilled macaroni, cooked (1 1/2 c. uncooked) Crisp bacon bits 1/2 c. chilled cooked peas 1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese, cubed 1 c. chopped celery, about 2-3 stalks 2 tbsp. minced onion 2 tbsp. minced parsley 1/4 c. minced green pepper Salt and pepper to taste 1 qt. mayonnaise 1/2 pt. heavy cream Combine all ingredients in very large bowl, EXCEPT for mayonnaise and heavy cream. Mix well and then add mayonnaise and heavy cream to moisten. Makes 6-8 servings; can be doubled. It's best to make this one or even two days before serving to let all the flavors blend. You may have to add some more mayonnaise to moisten. |
