FRUIT COCKTAIL CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 tbsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 can fruit cocktail
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. nuts

SAUCE:

3/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift dry ingredients. Beat sugar and eggs; add dry ingredients. Fold in fruit cocktail. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/2 cup nuts. Bake at 1 hour at 300 degrees.

SAUCE: Boil together 2 minutes, adding vanilla over top of hot cake.
