IRISH BROWN BREAD 
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. natural bran
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk or sour milk
1/4 c. cooking oil

In large bowl, measure in flours, bran, sugar, baking soda and salt. Mix together and make a well in center. Pour in buttermilk and oil. Stir just to moisten. Scrape into greased loaf pan 9 x 5 x 3 inches. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour. Remove form pan to cool. Serve plain or toasted, both with butter. Yield: 1 loaf.

NOTE: For sour milk add to 2 tablespoons vinegar to measure 2 cups.
