1 pkg. (1 lb. 2 1/2 oz.) white cake mix 2 pkgs. (3 oz. each) cherry flavored gelatin 2 c. boiling water Cool Whip or whip cream topping (approx. 7 oz.) 1 can (1 lb. 6 oz.) can prepared cherry pie filling, chilled Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare cake according to directions. Bake in 9x13 inch pan. A few minutes before cake is done dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Remove cake from oven. Take a fork and pierce the cake all over, making many holes right through to bottom of pan. Pour hot gelatin over the hot cake. Chill. Prepare whipped topping or Cool Whip. Spread on top of chilled cake. Top all with pie filling. Cut into squares and serve. Makes 6-8 servings. |
