NEVER FAIL PASTRY 
1 lb. shortening
1 c. boiling water
1 egg
1 tbsp. vinegar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. sugar
Salt
6 c. flour

Pour boiling water over lard. Mix well and let cool. Add beaten egg in vinegar and rest of ingredients. Keep in freezer or refrigerator until used.
