NEVER FAIL PASTRY 
4 c. sifted flour
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. ice water

Combine flour, sugar and salt in bowl. Cut in shortening until coarse crumbs form. Blend together egg, vinegar and water in another bowl. Sprinkle egg mixture into crumb mixture a little at a time, tossing with fork until dough forms. Divide dough in 4 parts. Press each into ball. Then roll. Makes two 2 crust 8 or 9 inch pies.
