BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
3 1/2 c. sugar
3 c. vinegar
1/3 c. coarse salt
1 tbsp. celery seed
1 tbsp. mustard seed
1 tbsp. turmeric
1 gal. crock
4-6 sliced onions (2 is fine)
Pickles (25-30, 3" ones) sliced thinly

Stir after mixing ingredients. Stir daily for 1 week. Keep in refrigerator for 1 week. Then can, pints or quarts 5-7 minutes, respectively.
