LINGUINE WITH CLAM SAUCE 
6 tbsp. butter
6 tbsp. finely chopped onion
6 cloves garlic, pressed
2 1/2 c. cream
3 cans (6 1/2 oz.) minced clams with juice
6 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. MSG
A few grains of pepper
1/2 tsp. basil leaves, crushed
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves, crushed

Melt butter in heavy saucepan. Saute onion and garlic in butter. Mix flour, salt, MSG, basil, oregano and pepper. Add this mixture to the butter sauce. Heat until the mixture bubbles. Remove from heat. Gradually stir in the cream. Return to heat. When mixture begins to thicken, add the minced clams with their juice. Stir until mixture is thickened. Mix with cooked linguine and serve in a large dish. Serves 6.
