MAMA'S RUSSIAN POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter (sweet)
2 c. sugar
1 c. cold water
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine.

3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 whole eggs

Beat sugar and butter until creamy and add vanilla. Add water slowly and beat together. Mix as follows: add 1 egg and flour mixture alternately until mixture is well beaten. Grease 2 loaf pans. Bake 1 1/4 hours at 325 degrees.
