CHERRY BREAD 
1 c. brown sugar
1 tbsp. shortening
1 egg
Milk
1 (3 oz.) bottle cherries, diced
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder

Drain cherries and save cherry juice. Add milk to the cherry juice until it measures 1 cup. Dice the cherries and set aside. Cream the sugar, egg and shortening. Add the milk. Stir in the dry ingredients and cherries. Place in greased bread pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
