REFRIGERATOR COLESLAW 
1 1/2 lb. head cabbage
1 med. onion, finely chopped
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. salad oil
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. celery seed

Chop or shred cabbage. Place in bowl with onion and green pepper. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup sugar and toss lightly to blend.

In saucepan, combine remaining sugar with other ingredients and bring to boil. Pour over cabbage mixture while still hot. Toss to mix. Chill for 4 hours. Will keep for days in refrigerator.
