APPLE PIE 
5 to 7 tart apples
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. lemon juice
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3 tbsp. butter
Pastry for 2 crust pie

Pare apples, slice thin and arrange in 9 inch pie crust. Combine sugar, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg; mix well. Add melted butter and lemon juice to sugar mixture; toss well and sprinkle over apples.

Prepare top crust, brush with milk and sprinkle with sugar. Cover pie and seal edges. Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Serve hot with ice cream or cheese.

NOTE: You may use 1 (1 pound) can of apples if desired.
