SEA ISLAND BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 tbsp. water
1 c. sifted all purpose flour (self rising)
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1 pkg. (6 oz.) semisweet chocolate pieces

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 9 inch sugar baking pan; set aside. Melt butter in 2-quart saucepan over very low heat. Remove from heat. Add sugars and water; blend well. Stir in flour. Add egg and vanilla. Blend well. Add nuts, coconut and chocolate; blend well. Pour into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into bars. Makes 16 bars.
