2% Milk butter Cream Cheese I currently live in the Bahamas where food is extremely expensive, so buying heavy cream ($10-12 for a pint) was out of the question and I didn't have cornstarch or flour available to me at the moment. Beyond that, I was unable to find a recipe that didn't utilize at least one of the above products, so I made my own. It's a little bit of a guessing game (no exact measurements or times), but it turns out delicious. 1) Begin by heating milk to a boil over low to medium low heat. Stir frequently. 2) Add in cream cheese and butter, while still stirring. 3) Allow mixture to continue boiling for 5-10 minutes. Continue stirring regularly to avoid curdling. 4) Add sauce to pasta of your choice. Sauce will thicken upon standing. Submitted by: Dr. Barbie |
