100 YEAR OLD SPICE BARS 
1 c. raisins
1 c. water
3/4 c. cooking oil
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts

Boil raisins and 1 cup water for 1 minute. Remove from heat. Beat together cooking oil, sugar, egg and salt. Add to raisins. Mix together flour, soda, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and nuts. Add to raisins mixture. Bake in greased and floured jelly roll pan. Double for large jelly roll pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.

GLAZE:

3/4 c. white sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk, canned
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. butter

Place over heat. Stir constantly for 2 minutes. Spread on hot cake by spoonfuls.
