SLOVAK HALUSKI KAPUSTOU | |
KAPUSTO: 1 sm. onion, diced 2-3 tbsp. butter About half head of cabbage, chopped Salt & pepper to taste A few good shakes of paprika In skillet, brown onion in butter. When browned, add salt, pepper, paprika and cabbage; simmer 5 minutes covered. Add a little water occasionally, as needed, until cabbage is tender. HALUSKI: 1 egg 1/4 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. flour Beat egg well; add salt, flour and water, stirring to a stiff batter. Drop by teaspoonfuls (or with knife, scrape bite size pieces off board) into boiling water. When noodles rise to top, cook 5 minutes longer. Add to prepared cabbage; stir well, heat through. |
