2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 2/3 c. sugar
3/4 c. milk
2/3 c. Crisco
1 tsp. salt

Mix and beat 2 minutes. Add 4 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and mix. Add 1/2 cup milk, 5 egg whites (unbeaten) and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Mix and beat 2 minutes. Bake in 3 layer pans or large cake pan about 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
