OLD FASHIONED SUGAR & SPICE COOKIES | |
3/4 c. butter or shortening 1 c. sugar 1/4 c. molasses 1 egg 2 c. flour 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 3/4 tsp. ground cloves 3/4 tsp. ground ginger 2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt Cream the butter and sugar together. Add molasses and mix well. Beat the egg and add to the creamed mixture. Combine the dry ingredients in another bowl and mix well. Add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Form the dough into balls the size of walnuts and roll in sugar. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove the baked cookies from the baking sheet and cool on a cooling rack. Delicious with a cold glass of milk! Yum! |
