APPLE CRISP 
4 c. apples, sliced
1/2 c. water, mixed with 1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
7 tbsp. butter

Sift flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Slice apples. Put in shallow pan (oblong). Mix cinnamon (1 teaspoon) in 2 cups water and pour over apples in shallow pan. Cream butter and add to flour mixture until lumpy. Spread over apples. Bake until apples are cooked. Bake in moderate oven. Serve with ice cream. Serves 6-8.
