PECAN PIE BARS 
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 c. chopped pecans
1/2 c. (1 stick) butter, melted
1 egg

Filling:

2/3 c. reserved cake mix
1 1/2 c. light karo syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
1/2 c. brown sugar

Generously grease a 13x9-inch pan. Reserve 2/3 cup dry cake mix for filling. Combine remaining mix, butter and egg. Mix thoroughly. Press in pan.

Bake at 350°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.

Combine all filling ingredients and beat at medium speed for 2 minutes with mixer. Pour over crust. Sprinkle with pecans.

Bake 30-35 minutes at 350°F. Cut in desired size squares.
