ALMOND DROP COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 1/2 cups flour
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. almond extract, or lemon
1 tsp. salt

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten egg, flour, extract and salt. Beat until smooth. Drop onto buttered cookie sheet or silicone liner by the teaspoon.

Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until edges are slightly brown. Wait several seconds before removing from pan as cookies will be soft. Cool on cake rack.

These cookies come out flat as a pancake, crispy around the edges and soft in the middle. I think there's something wrong with the recipe. The recipe is no good and I threw it away. I will never make them again!

check your oven temp. if the oven isnt preheated long enough and is too cold the cookies will spread out before they set.
