CHEESE BATTER BREAD | |
1 pkg. active dry yeast 1/4 c. hottest tap water 2 1/3 c. flour 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 c. sour cream 1 egg 1 c. shredded cheddar cheese Grease loaf pan. Dissolve yeast in hot water. Add 1 1/3 cups flour, the sugar, salt, soda, sour cream and egg. Using electric mixer, blend on low speed. Beat 2 minutes on high speed. Stir in remaining flour and cheese. Pour into loaf pan and let rise in a warm place for 50 minutes. Batter will not double. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake 40 minutes. Immediately remove from pan. Cool before slicing. |
