PULLA (FINNISH COFFEE BREAD) | |
2 c. lukewarm milk 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter 2 eggs 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. cardamom 2 pkg. dry yeast in 1/4 c. warm water Mix all above together after they ALL are room warm. Add 6-7 cups King Arthur flour, starting to knead when dough gets thick. Knead properly for 10 minutes. Let rise in warm place covered with towel. After rising, separate dough to wanted shape. Place on baking pan, cover, let rise again in warm place. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees. Light brown when done. While bread is still hot, baste with beaten raw egg for golden color. Quickly add to wet egg desired sprinkles such as pearl sugar and crushed almonds. |
