PULLA (FINNISH COFFEE BREAD) 
3/4 c. milk, lukewarm
3/4 lb. butter

6 lg. eggs
2 c. granulated sugar
2 tsp. salt
3 pkgs. dry yeast (4 on very cold days)

Add to butter - milk mixture. When yeast has dissolved, add egg mixture to it.

12 to 15 cardomon seeds, crushed

12 to 14 c. flour

Knead dough until it does not stick to sides of bowl. Cover, let rise until double in bulk (about 2 hours). Punch down, knead and braid into loaves. Lay them on a greased 17 x 11 1/2 x 2 1/2 inch pan (4 loaves will fit) or place on any sheet or bread pan.

This will make 5 loaves, depending upon how large they are made. Let rise about 1 hour. Bake 30-40 minutes in 375 degree oven.
