POLYNESIAN BARBECUED SPARERIBS 
2 1/2 lbs. spareribs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 (8 3/4 oz.) can pineapple tidbits or 1 can preserved kumquats
1/4 c. green pepper, chopped
1/4 c. onion, chopped
1/3 c. vinegar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. powdered mustard
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Season spareribs with salt and pepper. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours. Pour off fat drippings while cooking. Drain well when done.

While spareribs are baking, combine all the other ingredients, let stand until ribs are done. Then, pour this sauce over ribs, bake for another 45 minutes, basting frequently.
