SNOWY NIGHT SOUP 
3 onions, chopped
2 tbsp. butter
1 lb. ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
3 c. beef stock
2 (28 oz.) cans tomatoes
1 c. potatoes, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 c. green beans, diced
1 c. carrots, diced
1 c. dry red wine
2 tbsp. parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp. basil
1/4 tsp. thyme
salt and pepper to taste

In a large kettle, saut onions in butter until tender. Stir in beef and garlic and saut until browned. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
