ARKANSAS TRAVELERS 
1 c. butter or other shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
3 c. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder

Cream shortening and add vanilla and sugar, creaming well. Beat in eggs mixing well. Add peanut butter and mix well. Add flour and baking powder together and slowly add to creamed mixture. Roll into 1 1/2" balls and place 1 1/2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten with tine of a fork dipped in water. Flatten one way or two ways for design. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.

Keeps well in refrigerator for several days unbaked. Be sure to keep wrapped.
