ICE BOX COOKIES 
1 1/2 - 2 1/2 c. nuts
1 lb. butter
3 eggs
2 c. sugar
6 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. water

Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Mix soda and water and add. Add remaining ingredients and mix together with hands. Make into rolls, wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate or freeze. Chill thoroughly. Slice 1/4" thick; bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oven, 350 degrees, 10 minutes or until golden brown.
