OLD FASHIONED HOT DOG ONIONS 
1 lg. onion, diced or chopped
2/3 c. water
1/4 c. sugar
1 c. catsup

In a small saucepan, mix all ingredients and cook over a medium flame, stirring frequently. Sauce will start to thicken, then lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes. (If you like sweeter onions, add more sugar to taste.)
