ITALIAN CREAM CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1/2 c. vegetable oil 2 c. sugar 5 egg yolks 1 tsp. baking soda 2 c. plain flour 1 c. buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. coconut 1 c. nuts, chopped 5 egg whites, beaten stiff After creaming butter, oil, sugar and egg yolks; add alternately with buttermilk and vanilla. Add coconut and chopped nuts, folding stiffly beaten egg whites last. Pour batter into 3 (9 inch) greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. |
