ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 stick butter
1 c. Angel Flake coconut
2 c. flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda

Add 5 egg yolks to creamed mixture; one at a time, beating well after each. Beat the 5 egg whites and fold into the batter. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Makes 3 layers.

ICING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (room temperature)
1 stick butter
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans

Mix together adding pecans last and spread on cake.
