OATMEAL CARAMEL BARS 
1 pkg. white cake mix
1 c. uncooked oats
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
1 egg
Shortening
Flour
15 caramels, melted for topping
Add 1 tsp. water

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix cake mix, oats and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in oil and eggs until well mixed. With your hand pat half dough into bottom of well greased and floured pan, 7 x 12 inches. The dough will be gooey. With the back of a spoon spread melted caramel over the dough. Crumble over the caramel the rest of the dough. Bake 30 to 35 minutes until brown. Cut into bars. Good with ice cream.
