CARAMEL-OATMEAL BARS | |
32 caramels 5 tbsp. cream 1 c. flour 1 c. oatmeal 3/4 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 c. soft butter 1 c. chocolate chips 1/2 c. nuts Melt 32 caramels in 5 tablespoons cream. In mixing bowl combine flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, soda, salt, and butter. Press half of mixture into 11 x 17 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven. Sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 cup nuts on top. Spread caramel over top. Crumble the other half of flour mixture over caramel. Bake 15 minutes. |
