BANANA NUT CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 bananas, crushed
2 eggs
1/2 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
4 tbsp. buttermilk

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Add crushed bananas and nuts, vanilla, flour and soda dissolved in buttermilk. Beat well. Bake in long pan that has been greased and floured. Bake at 350 degrees until done. (Probably takes 40 minutes or longer.)

CARAMEL FROSTING:

5 tbsp. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. evaporated milk
Pinch of salt
3/4 c. powdered sugar, sifted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Mix butter, brown sugar and milk; heat until boiling. Remove from stove and add sifted powdered sugar. Beat well and add vanilla and pecans. Spread on warm cake.
