LYNETTE'S CONGO SQUARES 
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
1 lb. brown sugar
3 eggs
1 c. chopped nuts
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Sift flour, baking powder, salt together. Melt the shortening; add brown sugar and mix well. Add eggs one at a time; mix well. Add flour mixture.

Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Spread in greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes. Cut in squares when cool. Yield: about 36 squares.
