OATMEAL BREAD 
3 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
1/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkgs. yeast
1/4 c. water
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. finely chopped dates or nuts or raisins

Combine flour and oatmeal. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour mix, sugar, salt and dry yeast. Mix in water, milk and butter and warm. Gradually add liquid to dry. Beat at medium speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs, dates, and 1/2 cup flour mix (to make a thick batter) and beat at high speed for 2 minutes.

Stir in enough flour mix to make a soft dough. Turn out on floured board and knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl and let rise 1 hour. Punch down. Let dough rest for 10 minutes. Shape loaf oval, slightly flat; place on baking sheet. Cover and let rise. Bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 1 loaf.
