FRENCH BREAKFAST PUFFS 
1 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. cinnamon
6 tbsp. butter, melted

Cream 1/2 cup sugar, shortening and egg in mixer bowl. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.

Fill 12 greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Combine remaining sugar and cinnamon; blend well. Remove muffins from cups. Dip into melted butter; then dip into cinnamon mixture. Serve immediately.
