GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. butter flavor 1 c. buttermilk 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1 pkg. German sweet chocolate Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flavors and buttermilk. Sift flour, baking soda and salt together and mix well. Add German chocolate that has been softened in a warm oven or in a double boiler. Blend together well. Bake in a 9 inch tube pan that has been well greased and dusted with flour, about 1 1/2h ours at 300 degrees. Test with a toothpick, if done, toothpick will come out dry and clean. Place cake under a tight fitting cake cover while still hot. Leave covered until cool. |
