KOSHER STYLE DILL PICKLES | |
Cucumbers Pickling salt White vinegar Mixed pickling spices Several bunches fresh dill Garlic cloves, whole Hot peppers, whole Soak cucumbers, cut into spears for 24 hours in a brine made of 1 cup pickling salt to 8 cups water. Remove from brine and dry. Make a vinegar solution of 2 cups white vinegar to 3 cups water. Add 2 tablespoons pickling spices and several bunches of dill. Let come to a boil. Add cucumbers and take from heat. Into each jar (quart), place 2 cloves garlic and 2 hot peppers (small or one large). Pack cucumbers in jars. Heat liquid and pour over pickles. Seal. Water bath for 20 minutes after water has returned to a boil. |
