3 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 c. white sugar 1 c. brown sugar (granulated) 1 c. butter 2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tbsp. molasses 1/2 c. ground nuts Mix sifted flour, baking soda and cream of tartar in medium size bowl; set aside. Beat softened butter, sugar (brown and white) in large bowl. Add eggs, molasses, vanilla and nuts. Gradually mix in flour, etc. from the small bowl into the ingredients in large bowl. Dough will be quite stiff. On floured board form dough into rolls about 1 1/4" in diameter, roll on wax paper just long enough to fit in 9"x12" baking pan. On top of rolls place a dampened towel, refrigerate overnight. Slice rolls into 1/2" slices, bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. |
