BRAN-CHERRY BREAD 
2 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. sugar, divided
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 c. Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal
1 1/4 c. skim milk
1 egg
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 jar (10 oz.) maraschino cherries, drained and finely chopped
1 c. chopped walnuts, divided
1 tbsp. butter

1. Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, salt and nutmeg. Set aside.

2. In large mixing bowl, combine Kellogg's Cracklin' Oat Bran Cereal and milk. Let stand 10 minutes or until cereal is softened. Add egg and oil. Beat well. Stir in flour mixture. Set aside 2 tablespoons chopped cherries. Fold remaining cherries and 3/4 cup nuts into batter. Spread in 9x5x3 inch loaf pan coated with nonstick cooking spray.

3. Melt butter in small skillet until bubbly. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining 1/4 cup sugar, remaining 1/4 cup nuts and reserved cherries. Sprinkle over batter.

4. Bake at 350 degrees F. about 1 hour. Cool in pan on wire rack 10 minutes. Remove from pan. Makes 1 loaf, 15 slices.
