APPLE PUFFS 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
3 apples
1 egg
1 level tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. milk
Pinch of salt

Sift together the flour, salt and baking powder, add the sugar and the apples peeled, cored and chopped; mix to a rather stiff batter with the egg and milk. Drop by spoonfuls into hot fat and cook until the puffs are golden brown and the apples tender. Drain on paper and serve hot.
