OATMEAL COOKIES 
2/3 c. Mazola oil
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. raisin water
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3 c. quick-rolled oats
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts

To have raisin water, soak 1 cup raisins in pan. Cover with water and heat until raisins swell.

Sift together flour, salt, baking powder, and soda. Cream sugar, shortening and eggs together until light and fluffy. Add raisin water and flour mixture gradually and then add raisins which have been drained and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto baking pan and bake at 375 degrees.
