BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
20 medium pickles
5 large onions
1 qt. vinegar
1 c. cold water
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. turmeric
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed

Cut pickles and onions in slices. Let stand in salt water overnight. Drain. Wash in fresh water.

Put all ingredients in kettle except pickles and onions. Boil 5 minutes. Add pickles and onions. Bring to a boil. Put in jars and seal.
