1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
1 tbsp. cooking oil
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 c. water
Food coloring

Combine dry ingredients in saucepan. Add the water, oil, and a few drops of food coloring. Stir until moist. Cook over low heat for two or three minutes, stirring constantly, until dough begins to pull away from the sides of the pan. Place the warm dough on plastic/wax paper on the table. Cool slightly, then knead. Store play dough in a plastic zip-lock bag or airtight container. (Children enjoy helping with this recipe).
