PECAN PIE 
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 c. dark Karo syrup
1/2 stick butter
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. pecans, chopped or whole
1 (9 to 10 inch) unbaked shell

Melt sugar and syrup over low heat; cut the butter into small slices and add to the hot syrup. In a separate bowl beat 4 eggs and add salt and vanilla. Slowly add the hot syrup, beating all the time. Lastly, add the pecans. Pour into the pie shell and bake at 325 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until the pie is almost firm when jiggled. Makes a large pie.
