SPANISH STEAK 
1 (2 to 4 lb.) round steak
2 carrots
1 bell pepper
Flour, salt, and pepper
1 onion, chopped
2 c. tomatoes
1/2 c. shortening

Rub meat with salt and pepper. Pound in flour. Brown in hot shortening. Add remaining ingredients. Cover and simmer about three hours.
