1 c. butter or Crisco
1 3/4 c. sugar
4 eggs
3 c. self-rising flour
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Food coloring

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Add flour and milk; beat in vanilla and blend until ingredients are moistened. Separate into thirds and color. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Frost with desired frosting.
