MIAMI BEACH BIRTHDAY CAKE
1 (6 oz.) pkg. Nestle's semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. graham cracker crumbs
1/3 c. butter, melted
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter (butter)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 1/4 c. sour cream
1 c. heavy cream

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease and wax paper bottoms of 2 (9 inch) layer cake pans. Melt 1/3 cup chocolate morsels. Combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Stir in chopped nuts and remaining chocolate morsels. Mix well and set aside.

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs and beat until smooth. Blend in melted morsels and vanilla with sour milk. Sift flour, baking soda and salt; mix thoroughly. Pour into 2 layer pans and sprinkle with crumb mixture.

Bake 30 to 40 minutes at 375 degrees. When cool, remove from pan and ice with heavy cream whipped with 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar. Spread the cream icing on the bottom layer, 1 inch around the edge of the top layer and on the outer sides of the layer. Or you can use your favorite chocolate icing.
