2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. shortening
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. sour milk
2 eggs, beaten

Mix flour, sugar, salt, and shortening until crumbly. Reserve 1/2 cup. To remaining crumbs, add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well. Add sour milk and eggs. Pour into 2 greased and floured 8 x 1 1/2 inch round pans. Sprinkle with reserved mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
